Utah Masonry Council
Apprenticeship Program

The United States Department of Labor has approved the Utah Masonry Council Apprenticeship Training Program.

The Utah Masonry Council in partnership with the Salt Lake Community College will begin Apprenticeship Training Classes in accordance with the following schedule for 2015:

First Year Apprentices: 
Week 1: January 26-29
Week 2: February 23-26
Week 3: March 23-26
Week 4: April 27-30

Second Year Apprentices: 
Week 1: January 20-23
Week 2: February 17-20
Week 3: March 16-19
Week 4: April 20-23


Applicants must be employed by a Utah Masonry Contractor.  The program will be for three years, four weeks in class each year, meeting once a month for four months.  Classes will take place at the Salt Lake Community College and will be from about 7 am to 5:30 pm each day.  

Cost of enrollment is $673 per student per year, to be paid by student and/or employer or any combination thereof.  There is also a $40 per student enrollment fee assessed by Salt Lake Community College.  Course books will be $80 to $100 per student.  Students parking at the College are required to have a parking permit which costs $17.50.

The Utah Masonry Council will pay for books and the enrollment fee for all apprenticeship students employed by contractors who are members of the Utah Masonry Council.
