Explain the project and its unique use of masonry materials and techniques:
Midvale Middle School takes cues from the brick houses and art-deco style architecture of the historic town. The unique use of the different colors of brick along with the bright oranges of the accent material provide the art-deco look. The use of the 4' high brick along with the 2-1/4" brick add to the look. The 11,000 square foot gymnasium is accomplished with using a structural masonry wall and provides safety and security that masonry can provide. The masonry walls on the exterior of the building will provide a near maintenance free product for years to come.
