The First Place Award was presented to the architectural firm, Architectural Nexus (SLC), and to the mason contractor, Snyder Masonry (Spanish Fork), for their double-arched swing entitled “Arcus” (from Latin: a bow, arc, coil, arch, rainbow; anything arched or curved).
The Second Place Award was presented to the architectural firm, Valentiner Crane Brunjes Onyon Architects (SLC), and to the mason contractor, A Good Brick Mason (Lindon), for their footbridge entitled “Gone Fishin'”.
The Third Place Award was presented to the architectural firm, Dale Allsop & Associates (SLC), and to the mason contractor, IMS Masonry ( Orem ), for their masonry Hummer entitled “Masonry Hummms in 2004”.
The People's Choice Award, decided by votes received from Mall patrons, was presented to Fred C. Cox, Architect (West Valley) and to Doyle Hatfield Masonry (Salem) for their covered wagon entitled “Heading West: A Utah Tribute”.
Pace Pollard Architects (SLC) and G2 Masonry ( Taylorsville ) designed and built a magnificent project entitled “Crimes Against Aesthetics.
Thueson Masonry brought an artistic water source entitled “We Are Water” to life with assistance from the architectural firms Design Interface (SLC) and MHTN (SLC).
The First Place Award winning team will compete in an international “Masonry: It Makes A Village” competition to be held in Chicago , Illinois during 2005. |
